I have a 4in purple tang and a 4in cole tang that get along. Do you think that I could add a small yellow tang say 2in to the mix? Would the purple bother with another tang that small?

I'm thinking that you are out of real estate for another tang. In fact the yellow tang would likely just make things a little hectic.

I agree. The tangs will get more skiddish over time (years) anyway, even if you only have one in there.

i got a yellow and purple in a 150 right now, both about 4 inches. they're fine except when i put the algea in, the purple thinks its only for him, i'm just gonna buy another clip.

i would be worried about them fighting do to similar shapes especially if the new fish is smaller. you may be able to put a larger fish in and be ok but the ideal situation would be to add similar shaped tangs at the same time

In my 125 gallon, my purple was definitely king of the hill, although he didn't bother my kole very much. Another fish tang...I dont know
