I know this does not belong in this section but I hava a yellow tang and a powder brown amongst many different types .Well my bro traded me a yellow tang for some galaxia, because his tang was to agressive towards his other tankmates. Now he gets chased from one side of my 220gal to the other by the other yellow one and sometimes the powder brown one .Now is that because same tang species are supposed to be kept in pairs of 3 or more.Thanx.

Yellow tangs are quite aggressive to others of the Zebrasomagenus. If trying to keep multiple yellow tangs in the same tank I think you need to introduce all at once

+1

I would say the issue isn't the number of tangs, but rather you trying to introduce a new tang into a tank with two established tangs.

I had some issues adding a Tomini into a tank with a Powder Blue and Yellow Tang. I ended up dividing the tank into 2 sections with egg crate to keep the established tangs seperated from the new addition. After a few days they all were playing nice, so I took the divider down.

you can rearrange rock work to fool them into thinking that they are in a new area and they wont have established areas. worked for me on a couple occasions.

Thanx guys for the help.My existing tangs I've had for at least 5-6 yrs if not more. Now trying to catch this poor fella will be a job in a 220gal set-up.
