I don't know for certain, but I think it might be pushing the limit of that magnet. i'll test when I get home.

It does not. You'll already be pushing your luck with 3/4" thick acrylic.
I have mine on 3/4" acrylic but had to use a Tunze magnet for the back of the tank for it to hold.
