What size tank do you have , and what fish do you have in that tank ?

I have a 225 Gal . tank , and only 7 fish at the moment .
1-powder brown tang (boss of the tank )
2-orange fin tang
3-yellow headed sleeper gobie
4-flame hawk
5-pudding wife wrasse
6 Christmas wrasse
7-saddle blennie

I would like to add more , but I can't decide what I want to get .

92 gallon corner

Inmates include:
1 - banggai cardinal
1 - hippo tang
2 - blue/greeen chromis
2 - ocellaris clowns (love to host the xenia)
1 - yellow watchman goby (smiley)
1 - hi-fin perchlet (shows himself only once or twice a day)
2 - cleaner shrimp

All these guys/girls are small and everyone other than the perchlet eat like pigs. Perchlet has been in the tank for six months - I have never seen him eat (but based on his belly size, he is eating pods or something)

Also in the tank is a cleanup crew of snails and hermits, mostly sourced from out in the gulf.

alfa , Thanks for the info . how do you like your Banggai ? I was thinking about getting some of them . Are you still using NSW , in your tank ?

Ted,

Haven't used NSW in over a year now. Stopped early last summer after getting a strange algae growing with no other apparent cause. Within a month of mixing my salt, algae went away. So am chicken now to try it again.

Banggai is a neat fish. I started with two, had them for about three months, eating well and healthy, them one morning when lights come on, we are down to one. Can't find the other anywhere inside or outside the tank and cleanup crew are all out and active (versus munching on the remains somewhere). So went to Johns, bought another and dang if three to four months later, the same thing again. At $35 a pop, I decided enough was enough. Thus, we only have one.

Tom,

Tank looks great. I am curious - have you had any issues with the chromis - do the ten all seem to get along? I have tried keeping more than 2 a couple of times and the 2 that I have don't seem to want to share the tank with any others (Chromis that is).

Jim

Hey Jim - nice to hear from you. No, they aren't doing too well. Three have been in the tank from the beginning, the other 7 are new. There are problems. I'll probably take the 7 back out.

Steve , That's a Nice , bunch of Inmates . When did you get the PB Tang ? Ted

I got the powder blue about two months ago.
Steve

Tom,

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if I just had two misfits (although I have heard of others who always end up with two, no matter how many they start with).

Sure wish they could get along - they are neat when they do behave and school together.

220g tank

1 foxface rabbitfish
2 Naso Tang
3 Moorish Idol
4 Flame Angel
5 Bangaii Cardinal (can't keep 2 unless mated pair)
6 blue neon goby
7 blue neon goby
8 Watchman goby/with pistol shrimp
9 Coris wrasse
10 6 line wrasse
11 yellow tang
12 blue chromie (started with 4, 1 left)
13 pink skunk clown
14 orange skunk clown (was supposed to be pinkl)
15 lawnmower blenny ( I love him!)
16 copperband butterfly

I still want to add 3 lyretail anthias and if possible a sailfin tang.
That would make it 20 fish which is more than I ever dreamed I 'd have at one time.

Tom and Steve, your tanks look great!
Jim, the same thing happened to me with my bangaii

Sue , That's one nice mess of fish . I would like to get a Naso again , and I think a Copperband would be nice . I also think Blennies are cool fish . Ted

Up to 2 Tanks here:

210 Gallon:
Only 3 Fish so Far -
1 - Cardinal
1- Goby
1 - Lawnmower Blenny

75 Gallon (this is the Wife's Damsel Tank) She liked the Damsels...currently she only has 2 Yellow Tail Damsels.

Both Tanks are fairly new...210 is about 3-4 months and the 75 is about 2-3 months....So many fish i want to get but $$$ is tight right now.

OK my turn...

180 gal mixed reef
1 hippo tang
1 vlamingi tang
1 yellow tang
1 orange spot goby (I think?)
1 foxface
2 oscillaris clowns
1 royal gramma
1 atlantic hawkfish
5 blue chromis (1 disappeared, used to have 6)

Corals are still hit & miss, but the fish stay healthy and the tank seems to be finding its happy place (18 months). Since I am lax on maintenance, everything has to be hardy in my tank.
