Tank and pics

looks decent now your on your way.

lol thanks. Im really excited now that I got it and dont regret it wish i got it earlier. Been running it for one night so far..

is it possible for everything in my tank to truly look better just from one day of running the skimmer? cause the goni looks better and the fish are really active it could just be in my head, but the tank just seems to look better already.

also cant wait to get my nitrates down to 0.

To those who recommended a protein skimmer I just want to say it has made a strange improvement in my animals. Poor goni couldn't even breath with all those gross pollutants. Clear water obviously doesn't mean clean water.

goniopora's need high quality water, I had a green for two and a half years and my water quality was pristine, the reds or browns if you like fair better but they are a very difficult coral to keep, IMO they are not for the beginner, you could return it to the store to ensure it lives, not to be argumentative but 5ppm of nitrate is not a problem really,
you have done what most of us have and that is to stock too quickly without having quality water, but again we have all done this, As for the skimmer, well there will always be opinions, IMO they are essential for marine aquaria, Probably best to stop adding any further live stock until your skills improve so you can keep these sensitve creatures alive and well, the very best of luck though, all the very best.

Rock work looks kool. Tank looks a bit small for the tang though? And I can't see ANY of the fish you had in the earlier parts of your thread?

Thanks....the tang is still pretty young I've had him about four months but when he gets too big I'm upgrading for sure. Id already love a bigger tank. Well my thermostat went out a couple months ago and killed my fairy wrasse all my shrimp my arrow crab coral beauty my clown got traded for a tomato with a lady who wanted a more peaceful clown. I decided to make my tank a semi aggressive my tang lived but my firefish jumped out I think my trigger spooked him because I had him for 8 months without jumping it wasn't till after I got my trigger.

Yeah, well unfortunately this big tomato clown scared my wrasse to jump out of the tank. I guess a carpenters flasher wrasse is too peaceful of a fish. :( Its sad because I could have done without this big tomato, but now I am more tempted to find a very nice wrasse that is aggressive and doesn't get too big. Im not talking about a six line. Any tips??

You will probably have trouble with any wrasse you get jumping out of the tank, they're generally jumpers. Make a net top if you want to keep them.

nice improved rock work compared to the original post. if i was you if you can go out and buy a canister filter. they rock compared to a HOB and you can hide it a lot better too.
