Tank being shutdown

2.5" or so. I do miss Matt's store. Mel, I gonna try a complete overhaul, big water change, etc. and give it a week or two. If no success, some goes into the 125 and the rest on the sale block. I'll make you a decent deal on the gobies, LR, and tank if I go that route. Hippo's going, though, he should have been out of there a year ago, but he's tough to catch:) Probably thin some zoas and palys too, like Rockstars, AOG, Desert Fox, EvilMels, Pink Panthers, etc.

Successful overhaul today, and everything's back in. Looks less "congested" now as well. Once the zoas start opening up, I'll get a chance to see what's extra.

Appreciate you and your wifes time tonight there David! Had a lovely chat and picked up a beautiful Hippo and whatnot. Thanks for everything and g/l with the tank!

Hope things turn around for your tank dave, sad to hear things havent been looking as good. Your acans were one of the reasons I got addicted to the acan side of the hobby. It would be cool to see them grow huge in your 125 though! Good luck man!

Thanks for the kind words of support. They're healthy and all, but color is not as good and zoas and palys are staying closed for over a week now. I tried Lugols dip, so we'll give it a day or two before moving on to more severe measures.

Dave

Dave... the frags that went to the school are so so. The orange ones, I forgot their name already, all opened up beautifully!

The other one that was on a frag disc, had about 6-10 large polyps, most opened up but some seem to not want to open up at all, not sure if there is a zoa pox (white dots) on them or not, going to really watch them to be sure.

The other frag that was kind of flapping on the rock hasn't done much either, none of the polyps have opened up totally or shown much color.

I did do a 25g water change Tuesday after school because I haven't done one in awhile so I'm anxious to see how things look here in a few days.

Good luck with the tank and keep us updated on whats going on.

Oh, I gave you the ones on the frag disc? I was wondering where those went. Damn, they are quite rare, so I'd like to at least get some of them back if possible. The rest I don't know about.

Did you dip and QT them as I mentioned?

Dave

hey dave, have you ever tried keeping acans in the acro tank? Also Ive had good success with tropic marins pro coral cure or a good freshwater dip for zoos.

The acans started out in the acro tank and may be returning there. The zoas were dipped last week after tangboy came over and I gave him several frags/small colonies. I regret giving him the frag plug now, since it contained several PPE that I grew from one polyp and I could probably save it.

Dang... Ummm yeah, I'd definately try and get those back... :p

Hmmm don't remember seeing any PPE on them... I'll check it. The frag disc you gave me had polyps growing on both sides of the disc, actually had to place the frag disc on its side because of the way the polyps were growing, they were rather large. If you want them back I'll see about meeting you somewhere to toss em back your way.

I did dip them in my coral dip and placed them in my 8g at home before sending them to my schools tank. I'll see how they're doing by the end of the weekend and get in contact with you about giving them back.

OK, tank is broken down and here are the particulars and what's available:

Eviota bifasciata $15 see here

Eviota pellucida $15 see here

Both of the Eviotas are not seen often in the hobby. All fish except greenbanded are 6 months+ residents and quite healthy.

Amblyeleotris randalli, Randall's shrimp goby, most know this one $15

Elacatinus multifasciatus, greenbanded goby $10

Alpheid randalli, Randall's pistol shrimp, aka candy stripe pistol shrimip, only sold with his symbiotic goby $15

Emerald crab (eats bubble algae), peppermint shrimp, 6-10 astrea snails $20 for the group

Orange crush acan large frag $25
Acan echinata large frag $20
3X Ricordia florida orange/purple rim $35

Acan lord Japanese morph, about 6-7 small polyps $45

AquaPod 24 gallon w/ PC lighting, upgraded to 136W (4 bulbs), mix of actinic/daylight plus an extra bulb or two. Fans upgraded as well to handle additional heat load. MJ1200 return pump upgrade, ~10-15 lbs. LR with an assortment of zoanthids, but haven't opened in 2 weeks but otherwise appear healthy, should be Rockstars, kiwis, pink panther, Evil Mels, PHE, bambams, etc. $170 and will be sold together unless someone absolutely doesn't want the LR. DISCLOSURE -- AquaPod lid hinges broken, pretty common with these, doesn't affect appearance and lid still tilts up, you just have to be careful.

Seio M620 $20

Heater $5

So, ignoring the items in italics, I come up with $325 for everything else. If anybody wants everything, which I prefer, I'll throw in the italicized frags in the deal N/C. I'll give it 1 week to see if there's interest in everything, after which time I'll "part out". If my prices seem out of line (I took 1/2 of retail basically and near wholesale on livestock), make me an offer, but I do believe the prices are fair. Best to email me at commiphora at comcast dot net with questions, etc. Thanks for your interest.

Dave,
Sorry you are breaking the tank down. I always thought it was a great tank.
If you decide to part out I would be interested in:
Eviota spp.
the rics
MJ1200
Seio (possible).

Good luck.

Which one??? I'm probably interetsted in this one if you part out... :D

Tank and inhabitants all sold to imsqueak. Thanks Don, see you next w/e. If you can bring the zoas around, my wife wants first dibs on frags!

Dave

:D :D :D

Got me a tank for my "man cave"/office.

Note to Barb, might be a while but if you can sneek some acans from Dave's tank you'll have premium trading material.;) Oh yea, and I plan on making the tank, the tank that YOU wanted, well maybe a few acans... but that's probably what Dave told you too.

That's what I told her, but you all know how the story ended. The zoas took 2nd fiddle to the LPS. BTW, the massive water changes/carbon/AA/trace elements seems to be doing something, as a few are starting to peek out! I'll keep after it this week.
