Tank builders near Sac?

Well, I don't know what acrylic thickness TruVu uses, hence part of my posting here asking about their tanks. If it were the same, I'd go ahead and get a bigger tank from them for the same amount I would have spent anyway, but it sounds like they use 1/2 inch? The tank from SoCal would use 3/4inch for the entire thing.

I replied to that PM btw. Wish there was some sort of notification devie on here, when you are reading forums, you have to go back to the homepage, or go to your inbox to see if you have new messages.

Doh.

I r teh stoopid.

I got my acrylic tank from World Marine in SJ, it's a standard 240 (newbie mistake :) I could have ask him to custom it for me). If I have I chance to upgrade to a new tank ( which I will if I end up moving to Folsom :) ) it would be shorter < 24" shorter lighting period and still giving corals sufficient lighting, wider > 24" and external overflow all the way accross the back or at lease 2/3 the length. The 2 corner overflow does not provide enough skimmate in my opion.

Hopefully, some of the suggestions will help with your large tank order.

SoCal would be using 3/4th inch acrylic for the entire tank, including the eurobracing.

I'm still leaning towards going with SoCal, even if I could get more tank for the price from TruVu. I like the fact that the 3/4th inch acrylic should be stronger than I need it to be, so there won't be any bowing or sagging anywhere.

That is still pending the other quotes I'm waiting on though.
Did you ever figure out what tank to buy?

Hey Inkedsphynx,

Mike Paletta at WMC told me that LeeMar out of San Diego does excellent custom glass tanks including starphire.
