Tank crash. Never thought it would happen to me

Thanks for all the kind words guys. As for the the restart. Do I empty out the tank and clean everything up for the restart? New sand. Baked clean rock? Or can I get away with a massive water change and small changes for a couple weeks? I plan on taking a break for a couple months. So let it run as is with water changes. Or restart and cycle all over again?

If you had any type of pest I would start fresh.
If you didn't then do water changes and just wait
After my last crash it took me almost a year b4 I was able to grow sps again.
Good time to get a bigger tank and new stuff....lol

Good news. Looks like my misbared clowns and a couple nems made it. Lta and a couple bta. And my marine Betta. No desire to setup a new tank so I'll probably just do a large water change redo aquascape and just monitor and do water changes till I can get some decent readings. Thanks for all your words of advice. At least this is a little break. Tank won't be so demanding for a couple months

Havent seen anyone post it but running carbon would probably be a good idea too. Sorry to hear about the crash, it happens to the best of us.

Well I believe the tank has settled. Did have a mini cycle as some cyano showed up. Planning on doing another water change and a reaquascape. Anyone have any sps Frags you'd like to donate or sell for cheap? I'd like to see if my system is ready again ?!?

I have a chunky frag of ORA scripps if you are interested. Also have ora tri-color, pink lemonade and the vinh if you want. PM me.

I have some Monti spongodes and orange Monti digi frags that you can have. I'm in Pleasanton.

Man just saw this, sucks that this happened.

I am curious how much of the destruction is caused by the "pollution" of the anemone which I would think would be limited versus the anemone getting blended then all those stinging cells spread throughout the tank which would then kill things on a small scale which then ends up adding to the dead things polluting the tank problem.

Nice meeting you Toan. Hope those frags will help you jump start full force again. Let me know how they do, if they don't make it just text me.

Toan, I've got a large frag of Gecko Acro with your name on it if you're interested. Just shoot me a text or PM to pick up.

Big thank you to these outstanding gentleman. After being in the hobby over 10 years. From having various tanks / fish / coral , I was ready to throw in the towel and walk away. After some good buddies on the forum convinced me to restart and salvage what I had. After a couple weeks and recommendations of water changes/ carbon/ chemiclean. My tank is ready for sample frags. A big thank you to you guys for the frags. Easily you could have charged me for them but as a community you helped me , supported me and motivated me. That money can't buy. My family and I appreciate you. Many thanks for everyone else's advice and tips and support.

To date the frags are doing well. Showing good color and looking good ! Thank you again!

Glad to hear! And it sounds like your still motivated. Recommend the BAR frag swap this Saturday to keep you motivated.
