tank lighting replacing 4 x 55W PC lighting

ok well i wanna replace my 4 x 55 PC Jebo lighting since they are due to be changed.i was wondering what would be a nice setup i can use to have a nice looking color? should i use 2 x Actinic 03 Blue and 2 x 50/50 ?? i see there is also 10,000K or 6,700K... Also i was thinking of getting Coralife..what other brand is good too? and what sites can i order them from ? thank you

forgot to mention.... i dont have any corals its a fish only tank with live rock and sand ..i just want a nice looking color

if you only need color jus tgo to hellolights.com and buy the cheapest bluex2 and cheapest 50/50x2 but you should only get 55w that is what the fixture can handle

I assume from your “Current Tanks” line that you have a 75-gallon tank that is 4 feet long and will need a 48” fixture.

I recommend replacing your PC lighting which produces ~60 lumens per watt with T5HO lighting which produces ~90 lumens per watt. T5HO fixtures provide better reflectors, save electricity and offer more bulb choices.

I recommend the 4x54-watt Tek Lights with tank mounts. Your light intensity will probably double so I recommend that you purchase two timers for a dawn-to-dusk lighting cycle. Run your actinic tubes for 10-12 hours daily and your white tubes for 3-4 hours during mid-day.

FYI - T5 lamps are more efficient (lumens per watt) than T5HO. Check for yourself: http://www.lrc.rpi.edu/programs/nlpip/lightingAnswers/lat5/pc1a.asp
You are correct that these Coralife Aqualight T5 fixtures will not save as much electricity but for another reason: Their reflectors are not the best.
