Tank mate for Cherub Angel

I have a 20 gallon long, currently in the tank there is a firefish, lawn mower blenny, cherub angel, and an ocellaris clown fish.

I am currently cycling a 150 gallon tank, and I will be taking out the clown fish and putting it in there with another clown to be a pair.

I would like to add something to the 20 gallon, and the cherub can be semi-aggressive, so I need to pick my next tank mate based around him.

Suggestions?

Id say with the fire fish, lawnmower blenny and cherub remaining in the 20g, you'd be maxed out. However, you could probably get away with adding a neon goby, which is small, fascinating to watch and will clean the tankmates who are willing. Good luck :dance:

Why aren't all of the fish going into the 150? The 20L should be used for a fuge or frag tank. Or better yet use it to setup a QT :reading:

Mainly because I spent a ton of time and money making a REALLY nice oak cabinet and canopy. It's a very nice display tank. I would like a frag tank though.

Unfortunately I had to get the angel out of my tank. He was going at my clown fish and was really stressing it out.

I found a new home for him fast though He's going into a 90 gallon tank, which I am glad to gear. I am sad to see him go because he was a really active fish, and used the entire tank. I loved to watch him.

Now the process of finding a new free swimmer to the tank. All the fish in there currently kinda stay in their own spot, with the exception of the blenny when he wants to clean off some rocks.

Can anyone suggest a new addition? I would like a peaceful fish if possible, but something that is an active swimmer. I was thinking of a Midas Blenny, but I don't think the Lawn Mower Blenny would get along with him too well. There is about 3/4 of the tank not being used by fish at the moment so a free swimmer would be awesome.

Tank mate for Cherub Angel

I would try the blenny. My cherub is a bit of an a** but has left both a midas and bicolor blenny alone. I have kept both with algae blennys without any issues.

Make sure the tank is covered. That's how I lost my midas. They're among my favorite fish. They have giant personalities

Thanks for the feedback. I will give the Midas Blenny a good look and I am also considering a Yellow Wrasse. Jumping shouldn't be an issue as my canopy is 8 inches tall, and the light covers a good amount of it.

Look for a Hector's goby that's eating frozen, perhaps. They're hovering gobies as opposed to sitting gobies, and they're really sweet.
