Tank move

I will be there, let me know if you would like me to bring any of the equipment i have....trailer, appliance dolly(carried a piano up stairs with it) Also have furniture skates.

I appreciate all the support folks. Please any buckets with lids or smaller rubbermaid with lids you have, 15 gallon or less . It will make it easier to transport them by hand

Hey Mike,
I know I ran my mouth, and offered to help with the move/framing etc. After my trip to the hospital I found out I'm going to be stuck at home for the next 2 months on IV meds. I wont be able to help at all :mad2:

Thanks again for letting me add you to the "call in case of emergency" list while I was in.

Hey Bro thats cool.. I just hope you are going to be ok. I suppose we could russel up a handicap sticker for ya and put you in a wheel chair to spectate :)

You are welcome for being on standby, anything to help ya out man.

Hey Mike, I should be around to help as well.

Sorry to hear about the problems last night. It seems as soon as we listed our house, trouble started in my tank. Two colonies bleached for unknown reasons. Maybe they don't want to leave Mentor.

Why would anyone/thing NOT want to leave Mentor? =)

Hmmm....Its better in Mentor

We have a place already picked out in Chardon that we may offer on this week. The thought of 2 mortgages scares the H*** outta me though.

Hey Mike, I apologize but it looks like I may be forced to pull back on my offer to help move. We just received an offer on our house last night with a "move in 30-day" condition so we will be behind the 8-ball to get stuff together. find a house and get out.

I want to start collecting tubs and bins for the move this week. I don't want to wait till the last minute to start collecting them. For those of you that are going to help on the move day. Please shoot me a PM so I can start tracking what you are going to bring.

Hey Jeff,

I fully understand your position. If you can still make it that would be great. If not, that is cool to. I know you will have a lot to do in the next 30 days.

Mike

I've got a number of tubs and bins you can use. I'll need to check and see how many, and how big they are. I don't remember off the top of my head. If you don't hear from me by tonight, then PM me a reminder.

Mike IIRC you said your move is June 8th, that is a Friday. Is this correct? What are your schedule plans for the move. Details Man, Details

Hey John,

You had me second guessing myself. I went back through and found the post. I had stated Saturday the 9th. Ok, onto some details. So far I have 2 - 100 gallon stock tanks on hand. I have been contacted by many that are going to help and we should have enough containers to transport the livestock and live rock. I am going to purchase some new trash cans and they can be used to transport any and all remaining water.

My plan is to get 1 of the stock tanks setup with temporary lighting from my frag tank.

Drink some beers

The other stock tank will be for all the live rock that is left and it will have a PC light over it.

I am going to break the frag tank down on Friday and get it moved to the new house on my own. That will be one less thing to worry about on Saturday. I plan to remove my hood from the 180 on friday as well and transport it to the new house that evening.

Saturday morning I will have two - three trucks and a trailer ready. I would like to get started with everyone at the house by 09:00 Saturday morning.

Drink some beers

We will need to break down the fish room first and get it loaded and transported to the basement of the new house. I feel that should take about an hour or so.

We will then come back and start to remove the livestock and place it in buckets and bins.

Then remove all the live rock

Scrape the carpet anemone loose

Drain the the tank down to 3-4"

Catch the fish

Drain the tank the restof the way

Move the tank to the new house

Clean the tank out at the new house as best as I can

Set the stand

Place the tank on the stand

Drink some beers and grub

I don't have to many updates as of yet. I did stop at the Critter and picked up more RO filters and a box of salt for water makeup at the new house. If all goes well the closing this Monday I should have the 100 gall stock tanks in on Tuesday and filling with water since I have two RO units to dedicate to them.

So far I have the following folks coming out to help. If I list you and you can't make please let me know and if I didn't list you let me know:

Myself
Andy
John
Ron
Peter
Erik
Mark
Kevin
