Congtraulations on TOTM. What an honor. Tanks like yours are what convinced me I wanted a reef tank. I saw in your list of inhabitants that you have two pair of clowns. Percs and skunks in the same tank. How is this working out for you and them?:D

Hey Steve, does this mean I don't have to come visit your tank now, since I can just read about it on RC? :)

Congratulations! Travis did a great job capturing a number of those images, and I really enjoyed the growth pictures.

Thanks to all for the kind words.

JazzMan- Most of the newer pics were taken by Travis Staut. I do not remember what cameras he uses, but I will ask him to respond here and let you know. He had a case full of special lenses and took hundreds of shots for me. My pictures are taken with a Nikon Coolpix 950.

picture the reef- I have had my Percs for almost 3 1/2 years and added the skunks about a year ago. They reside on opposite sides of the tank. It is rare for any of them to travel more than a foot away from their homes, but I did see one of each in a stare down when an accidental meeting took place not long ago. Things got a little tense in Clownville for a few seconds, but the skunk quickly retreated.

Melev- Travis does take some amazing shots!

Isn't there a tradition when you get the honor of having Tank Of the Month that you have to buy everyone a drink at the next MACNA? I think I have heard that before, if not i think you need to get this started this weekend. See you at the bar friday night. Oh and by the way

Congrats Steve, I have to say nothing beats seeing the tank in person!

Camera used was a Canon 10D. Thanks for the kind words regarding the pics, but in all honesty with Steve's tank it's hard to take a bad shot!

Travis

Great looking landscape. Very natural!

I would also be interested in hearing about your success in keeping the different Clownfish. That's impressive.

I would also be interested in your opinion of the Tenecor tank over the years. Have you been able to keep the scratches to a minimum? It seems like you have.

Does the tank bow more over the years? Does it bow at all?

Congratulations!

Congratulations!!!!!!

Your tank looks awesome!! I thought it was worthy of TOTM when I saw it over a year ago...beautiful pictures too. We will toast the tank of the month proudly at MACNA this weekend.

Percs and skunks are probably the most docile of the clowns that I am aware of. In a large enough tank I don't think it would often be a problem keeping them together, especially if they host in something on opposite sides of the tank. The percs host in a colt coral, the skunks hide out behind some gorgonians at the far ends of a six foot tank. They curl up together on top of a powerhead at night. I lost my original male perc of over three years a few months ago. They spawned every 10-14 days for two years. I was/am pretty bummed about it. I replaced him recently, so I hope to see some true love between these two some day.:)

I have never regretted going with the Tenecor tank. I have very few noticable scratches on it, unless you lay on the floor and look up at a steep angle. I clean the walls every 2 days to prevent any buildup that would require scrubbing. I am also careful not to get any sand in it when cleaning near the bottom. If it bows at all I can not see it. The workmanship is top notch! If you decide to order one shoot me an email before you do. I can give you some helpful advice on small changes that will make a world of difference in it.
