I'm going to be moving my tank to a new place with laminated (pergo type) floor. Do any of you put like a pad of some sort under the stand to protect the floor? if so, what are recommendations.

thanks

I used a pond liner on my floor for my 375g tank.

I use a rubber type mat from OSH.. its about 1/10th of a cm thick. and it extends a couple of inches away from the cabinet to cover any overflow or splash of water.

Mine is straight on the pergo. Been that way for 8 years. Zero damage from water spills that I have on a daily basis it seems.

Previous two homes had pergo and real wood. The pergo was no problem, and was unaffected by spills. Real wood's a different story:p

I laid down a clear mat under the tank. You can find them in the carpet section of home depot. I mostly see them used as carpet protectors similar to the kind you see under office chairs. Makes clean up from spills a breeze. When I moved my tank about 3 weeks ago after about 2 1/2 years in my old apartment with laminate wood floors there was no damage and believe me I had some big spills courtesy of an old protein skimmer. It rus like a buck or two a foot.
