OK, just got my Salifert Ammoinia, Nitrate and Nitrate test kits. They are much more accuratethan the ones I had been using. I already use Salifert Alk, Calc and MG. Below arethe params I got with my new test kits. Please analyze and make any recommendation/suggestions you may have to get them better in line.

Ammo - 0
Nitrite - .005
Nitrate - .05
PH - 8.25
ALK - 11.6 DKH
Calcium - 420
MG - 1470

Other info: I had been dripping Mrs. Wages for about 2 weeks to get my PH up. Since the weather cooled off here I opened the windows yesterday and did not drip. Could this affect my param readings for PH and ALK. Previous weeks readings with dripping Mrs Wages was PH 8.09 and ALK 9.6 DKH. BTW all tests were done in the morning before lights on at temp of 80 degrees and salinity of 1.025.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Ammo - 0: Good
Nitrite - .005: Good, should be 0
Nitrate - .05: Good, better to have 0
pH - 8.25: Good
Alk - 11.6: Good, try to keep below 11 dKH
Calcium - 420: Great
MG - 1470: A little high. This is probably why your Alk is so high. Try to drop it to about 1300-1350

Yes, opening windows in the room drives off CO2 and will raise your pH.

If you are mixing the limewater at satuaration (2 tsp per gallon) you may be able to cut back a little to say 1 tsp per gallon and continue dripping. That way your alk will fall a little on its own and you will still get the benefits of limewater.

Your mag will drop in time by itself. :)

Thanks Travis, Increased ALK from last week could be the result of my increasing MG from 1100 to 1470 recentlly. Nitrite and Nitrate levels could be expalined by ongoing battle with HA, which I think I am slowly winnning becasue it's beginning to die off. Thanks again
