i've been planing a 180 gallon aquarium for a few weeks now. Built my stand out of 2x4"s and 2x8"s. I have someone that will order my tank for me (Perfecto rr 180) for about $930. I seen a website that has a sale on a Perfecto 220 gallon for real cheap $700. I want to know is there a big difference between the 180 and 220 or can i basicly run the 220 same as i was going to run the 180. 220 is just 6" higher.

the height will impact what you can keep on the bottom of the sandbed (or barebottom) of the tank. If you're going Reef - this will therefore impact what type of lighting you might need. otherwise FO/FOWLR - no big deal.
Also unless you have really long arms - shorter tanks tend to be easier for maintenance.

the 220 gal gives you more gallons which can make a difference down the road on how big a fish you can keep.
