I'm getting a 5" peacock and i was wondering if he would be ok in a 20 gallon tank. I also have a 40 gal, but the 20 is already set up. which tank should i put it in. will the 20 be too small

From what I've read, since the peacock is already 5", and that is close to the normal max size of 6-7". Usually for larger sizes, I believe Dr. Roy has suggested 100L (26.5g) tanks or greater.
But I guess it's pretty close... maybe even more so if it was a 20L.

I have my Peacock in a 20L acrylic and she uses only half of it. I do have a 5" sand bed and she loves to snuggle in her burrow. She's approx. 4.5" can see pics in my gallery.

ReefGeekster you got some ba**s feeding you re mantis by hand like that. Don't think i'll be doing that.......i'll stay with the tweezers.

Actually that's a file photo from the internet not mine. But the other pics are....

that mantis had lost his raptorial appendages, so the person (I believe is a member of this forum) is at no danger of getting popped!

how did it loose those?

it seldomly happens, but if they dont use them enough, or get to damaged he or she will break one or both of them off... i imagine there might be other reasons too...
