Tank Temp

I have 2 Neo Therm heaters for my tank. " I really like them"

They have 2 options really. 76f or 78f, im not running it at 80.

If I do 78f it seems to run around 78.5-79

I would rather have it little lower for electric cost overtime. As my main goal of my new tank is lower costs. I did all DC pumps and LED lights.

I put my reef tank down to 76 and it's been steady around 76.5.

Is this an ok temp? Will it work long term?

I have a 120g with 2-200w heaters. One in sump and one in overflow section.

Thanks!

Nothing wrong with that temp, though you may hear that warmer encourages coral growth via the argument that "The warmer the water the faster the metabolism of a coral is and the faster they metabolism is the faster they grow"

I've seen lots of really full tanks that run 76-77, maybe they're just real patient!

77 for me x almost 30 years if you disregard that time my (soon to be ex) girlfriend watched the tanks for a few days while I went on a short vacation with family.

It was the last weekend of July through early August. One of the hottest on record for the area. She turned off the AC on day 1 to "save me some money". Thanks. Not so much. 100% loss of 54 different of the sea's creatures, probably $1500 in late 80's dollars, and that was counting my discount for working there p/t.

I hope the "soon to be ex" girlfriend doesn't have an account here HAHAHAHAHA xD
