I CLEANED MY FANS LAST NIGHT AND REPOSITIONED THEM
I HAVE 2 250W MH 5 INCHES FROM THE WATER ( NO CHILLER )
I CAME HOME AND MY TANK WAS AT ROOM TEMP ( 73 ) DEGREES
MY HEATER WAS RUNNING FULL BLAST ( 300W ON 75 G TANK)

WOW NEVER HAD THAT HAPPEN BEFORE LOL :spin1:

ANYONE ELSE EVER HAVE THIS HAPPEN
AND HOW TO FIX WITHOUT OVER HEATING TANK

P.S. LUCKALY ALL SPS WERE FINE

Do you run the fans 24x7? Can't you run the fans through a controller and have them turn off base on temp? It's quiet amazing a couple of fans can keep your tank at 73F with 2 250w MH 5" away from a 75G. Are you also running AC? Care to share what kind of fans you are using?

Ya its on a timer so when halides come on so does the big fan and small ones built into the fixture
yes i run ac at 73 during the day (wifes fault)
74 to 75 when i get home

i have a walmart 12 inch fan blowing i between both mh and 2 4 inch on the outer edge, plus the ones in the fixture

i moved the big fan in between the mh and that is what caused the temp drop

i do not use a controller to high for me right now

That sounds like a fine plan as long as you only run the fans when the MHs are on. The temp drop properly has more to do with the AC than the fans. Most reef animals are very adaptive as far as temp goes so I won't worry about a temporality temperature drop like this.

A controller is extremely valuable and it's only a $100 investment. I would put this ahead of your next coral purchase. It makes life a lot easier. :)
