Tank Transfer Guys - Quick Questions

Everyone is nice and active except the Lineatus...

I'm guessing this is pretty normal behavior for them when new...

He'll come out a few minutes here and there and gets some food after I add some. Doing 3 small feedings a day for the Anthias. Rest of the time he's in his PVC.

Cleaner is super active and loves eating, great sign!

Two Anthias have already started their dancing... guess an order is being established :)

Not really seeing much ammonia.

I used a little prime yesterday and it STUNK!

Would using some liquid nitrifying bacteria be an OK substitute for Prime?

I added a piece of filter floss to the HOB skimmer's return and the water looked clearer overnight.

Yeah I think it is normal for a smell with Prime.
You should not need any bacteria with Prime
Toss the floss with each change

What you're regiment fro cleaning the tank and equipment after moving the fish?

My regimen is to empty and rinse the tank followed by a wipe-down with bleach solution (just follow the dilution instructions on the clorox bottle). Then towel-dry and let set for 48 hours. Then, I rinse all equipment and soak in the bleach solution for 24 hours, followed by a rinse and air dry for 24 hours. If you're using powerheads, be sure to remove the propeller so it dries properly.

Our cleaning regimen consists of dumping a cup of bleach in the tank (10 gallon water volume) and keeping the powerhead running this soaks for 24 hours then a good rinse and let dry.

All the guys are in there 2nd tank now.

Only that that bothers me is that the colander and net touched the bottom / sides a few times. The Anthias were pretty tough to catch...

Is that a bit deal or not too much?

If you are running a filter with floss and toss it after 72hes. , wouldn't that filter itself be exposed or in contact with the water and possibility to infection just as the colander is or worse?
Good thread btw.

Ended up ditching TTM for a permanent QT with established ceramic media. On the second round of prazi now. Will do one more then do a low (.25-.30) dosage of Cupramine.

TTM just seemed way too stressful on the fish. Also saw ammonia go from near zero to near fatal overnight.

Just didn't work for me :(
