If you treat for chlorine either by aeration for a day or a water conditoner product , can you use straight tap water with your salt mix for this method ? Also if you combined this with the hyposalinity approach would your chances of success be better along with using less salt ? I am also assuming that your properly acclimate your fish for the change in salinity. It seems when you are changing your water every 3 days high levels of phosphate or whatever doesn't matter unless it is chrorine , chloramine which aeration or a water conditioner will remove. Also you could then use heated water from your home to get closer to the right temperature versus a small tank heater if you plan to use a large 40 gallon rubbermaid container or larger to treat numerous fish. You still would use a heater, air sponge and possible pump that is sterilize between each tank transfer. Any downside ? Last question , what is the best way to sterilize the Sea-Chem ammonia alert badge ?
