Ok now that my sand storm is going away I am now thinking of moving things from the 55 to the 95 this weekend. Any suggestions on the best way?
I was thinking:
Saturday mixing old water and new together, drip method
Sunday moving over most of the LR
Monday and Tuesday frags and some of the clean up crew.
The new water is several weeks old btw and salinity and temp. will be the same in both tanks before mixing.

Drip method on mixing the water seems a bit excessive to me. Won't hurt anything but your patience, though. Just think of it as a 50% water change. You should be able to do it all in one day.

I agree. If you've got water that's been mixing, I'd drain the water out to pile rock (just works easier for me with no water, but others may disagree), then add the water in-~1/2 new and ~1/2 from the tank. Then start throwing in corals. Most corals aren't going to be too picky. Like Dave said, you can look at it as if it were a 50% water change...

Just think most LFS's cut and dump corals and fish! I am not agreeing with it but they do. After watching this in person one day and inquiring about there acclimation procedure they explaned with most corals its better to just temp acclimate them and dump to get them in flow ASAP. Just having them sit in a bucket with no flow adding a dab of water at a time over a couple hours like a drip takes is more stressful on the coral than a cut and dump. I have to admit I now practice this same methode on all but the most sensitive corals. But I mostly deal with softies I dripped a 10 peice frag pack from Fishdoc a few weeks ago but our alk was pretty differant between our tanks and they were things I do not have a good track record of keeping (SPS's) anyways so I went the extra mile.
I always drip fish FWIW.... but I wouldn't in your senerio.

We sorta acclimated Priscilla to the new tank. Matt was adding cups of water to her bucket like every 5-8 minutes or so. But I already knew that the salinities were pretty much the same.

So if it's something you really really care about, then I would take some time to acclimate it. But really Mike...we didn't acclimate any of the corals (not a bit) or any of the fish except Priscilla and everything made it just fine. I really had two casulties...one was most of my slimer (go figure) and one was my tort. The problem with it is that I just can't find it. It was attached to a rock and it was so small that I lost it in the move. For all I know it's still doing well somewhere in the back.

Ok, temp and salinity are about the same, sand has cleared and I was able to about 40# of LR before finishing the floor. I will add the rest of the rock tonight and my zoa frags tomorrow if I get a chance. Thanks.
