Tank update

lcs

It's Spring!!!!!!!
For a while now I've been wanting to move things around a bit and today I was finally able to get my hands in the tank.

The frogspawns is new (thanks reefboarder!), I added the two mushrooms and moved some zoas around. I decided I didn't want them all in one place. I moved a couple small rocks around and the big 1050 powerhead to the back glass (had it on the side). The location of that may change again when I get the 750 and start playing around with the flow.

Oh, and Dan, those zoas came back to life a few days ago and have been doing fine. There had been suggestions on the zoanthid forum to move it up. Do you think I still should?

I'm looking forward to start adding some SPS in the future. I know I want purple cap and birds nest; maybe green slimer.

I'm finally seeing better coralline growth and all my nasty stuff has disappered, with the exception of a couple patches of hair algae.

My McCosker's is still doing fine in QT, but I think she wants to come up to the DT as much as I do! Ten more days. Not that I'm counting or anything.

FTS. I wish the colors didn't look so washed out. :(

did you use a flash on that pix?

Corals are looking great-love that zoa area down in the bottom right corner.

W/ my zoas I find they like it lower-what lights you gots? T5 for me.

Thanks so much for the complements everyone! I'm really happy with it! Couldn't have done it without this place, that's for darn sure!! :D

I have T5 as well. I've seen some tanks with their zoas higher up and I thought I'd give it a try. You can't really see them, but there is a frag of orange ones (thanks, kase!) to the left of the toadstool. I moved them up gradually and the seemed to be happy.

Nope, no flash. When I used the flash, the pics end up yellow and washed out.

I saw all that great stuff, there were several things I would love, but you're too far away. :( Plus, I think I want pink ;)

Very nice, I like how there is plenty of places for swimming in, around and through your rock set up. Nice looking Frogspawns.

Everything looks fantastic Lisa. You're going to be so pleased when you put that Wrasse in as well!
I'm on the look out for some pink birdsnest as well - lmk if you find someone with a stash!

looks great. The rock stack is especially noteworthy.
The pic is overexposed, not "washed out". Did you use an automatic or manual camera setting?

Good point. I had it on manual. I've played with the white balance settings, but they look worse than on auto. It's an older (5yr) Canon Rebel digital SLR.

liking that toadstool
Thanks, me too! The polyps are green. I just noticed that the "foot", or "stalk", has narrowed and extended since I've had it (I think it's been about a month now); does that mean anything? I can't imagine that it's not getting enough light under 96 watts of t5. It's also shed a couple times now.

that Sarcophyton is getting enough light. In heavy water flow the "stalk" (and animal in general) will take on a much more "fat" (squat) growth habit.
