Tank Upgrade!!!!

Way to go John. I love the stand and canopy. I couldn't tell how tall it was until the pic with you standing there. It's very impressive! It will be tough to work on, but it will be worth it.

The top of my tank comes up right to my armpit, so working on it is a breeze. But it looks like it's sitting on the floor.

If I had the room for it, I would have done it taller, like yours.

I am going to build a platform that when I am working on the tank I can place it in front of the stand .It will be like I am working on a tank sitting on a 30" stand.

Just a little update,I have the tank filled now with 250lbs of live rock inside. I am running just the sieos for the time being as I have a leak in my plumbing . It is just a tiny drip and if it was over my sump I wouldn't care, so I am going to redo the joint that is leaking. I am hoping to get everything running but I don't want to start up the main pumps until all is watertight.

What I meant was that you do such a beautiful job that you should do consulting work for us who don't have that talent. I certainly could use some assistance. I know nothing about plumbing and carpentry.

After a few minor leaks( drips), I have all of the plumbing watertight . I accidently cracked a bulkhead and had to empty and drain the entire system. (thank God for garbage cans) It is such a load off my mind to have the system up and running. And now a few pics :

Tank is still cloudy, should clear in a day . Skimmer is already starting to pull out junk.

Gonna be needing FRAGS soon .....

Gary M. and his wife.. because even though he may not admit it it was most likely "HER" idea to move.Lol . and in doing so I was able to acquire his old tank.
St James.... who was kind enough to supply his time and pickup to get the tank for and with me
Gray Greguire... For making himself advailable to help carry that heavy sucker inside among other things.....
SteveL... again to help carry and supplied the drill I needed to drill those holes after mine died lol...

Looking good John! Don't you love those sandstorms? I just added a couple of bags of sand to my new tank. I can't see an inch into the tank. Next time I'm up Groton way I'll stop in and admire your handiwork. Looking forward.

Thanks Marks And to think I stacked it while the water was cloudy. It was a PITA but I like it. I could use about 50lbs more i think Id like to have an arch or shelf on the right side.

Give the new tank as much time as possible.

also- not to be critical but u could so a alot with the rock structure.

Wow....yeup...time to stop by again and see it with my own eyes. Impressive!! .....but yeah...it does look like you need to build up the rock some more....other than that...looks awesome. I want to see the plumbing in action. I'll be by one of these days.
