Tank Upgrade

I am going to start my tank upgrade within the next few weeks. I picked up a nice 275g Acrylic tank with a 75g acrylic sump. The tank dimensions are 8'x36"x18" the 36" front to back will allow many options for the aqua scape. I have some rearranging and cleaning to do before the tank can be setup. It will be built into our basement wall just like my current 75g reef is. The fish room is roughly 15'x12' and will also have a frag tank and a nice fragging area. The tank will be going on the wall in the picture that the TV is on, I will be removing the door and centering the tank on the wall.

I was told Acrylic Creations out of Butler but I have not verified this yet. I know Dave engraves his company on the tank, however I have not unwrapped the plastic to look yet. It is well put together with all 1/2" acrylic and 3/4" euro bracing/cross supports.

I will be looking for some ideas for designing the overflow system on this tank, currently it is not drilled and the overflow/overflows can be placed anywhere. Any and all recommendations for the overflow design will be greatly appreciated. The euro bracing has a 2" overhang on the inside of the tank for the front and back sides. The euro bracing on the ends of the tank have a 5" over hang so the overflows at the ends of the tank would not work. I have also thought about an external overflow box, at this point anything could be done because nothing has been drilled yet.

Yeah I am excited about setting the tank up, however it has been a slow process cleaning out the back room where the tank will go. I have a lot of prep work to do before I am able to start installing the tank. I am looking into a closed loop system possibly, but I have done little research on the closed loop systems. If I go sump I will most likely need a larger sump than what I have or purchase a second acrylic sump and connect them together. I imagine in the event of a power outage the backflow from the display to sump would be quite a bit of water. If anyone has experience with closed loop systems please chime in. Thanks

Nice tank. I've always wanted an 8 footer. Another important thing to keep in mind will be mold control / ventilation. A system that big will have a "lot" of evap.

Once I get the room cleaned out where the tank is going, I will post some pre build pictures and of course post real time photos. I plan on installing a bathroom exhaust fan in the room and I will be insulating the ceiling that is currently open floor joist. I even thought about sealing the floor joist or painting it with kilz before insulating. The wall in the room that the tank will be on is also going to be insulated and finished once the new electric is ran. Mold is absolutely a concern and I want to make sure I have plenty of ventilation in the room. Our furnace is only about 6' away from where the tank will sit.
