tank with brooklynella 2 weeks ago

I lost two clowns to brooklynella a little more than two weeks ago. I had 3 other fish in the tank that survived, and they never seemed to show any signs of infection (yet/never).

I have been offered a really good deal on an onyx ocellaris clown pair...
Do you think it's still too dangerous to add the clowns?
Is it possible that my other fish are hosting the parasites but aren't affected?
This is all based on the assumption that there are still brooklynella parasites in the tank, and that clowns are extra sensitive and succeptible to brooklynella.

My 02.

I don't think there is a clear answer here ... brook tends to spread by contact and to my knowledge doesn't have a free swimming stage. Many would advise that if one fish has obvious brook problem you should capture and treat all fish with a formalin baths - if you have done that then I suspect your Ok. If you never gave the other fish a formalin bath then the answer is less clear.

If this were my tank the minimum I would do is to make sure I had formalin on hand before I purchased more clowns ... I would also consider giving all of the fish a formalin bath (including the two new clowns).

Heres a link discussing how to give a formalin bath.

Hope this helps.
