Tank!

Overhanded

New member
I grabbed a 20 long!
If I move within a year this will allow me to go bigger than 40 breeder and also give me a sump.

I understand water parameters are gonna be a pain but I believe right now this is the best route.

So I am gonna be looking for anyone who has Live rock and substrate!

Good luck on the new tank. I have some substate and some live rock if you want we can work something out.

Ok cool! Since I am on smaller tank. Gonna push 40lbs.
If thats possible!

I don't now if you have that much!
But if you have less. What would be minimum to start a cycle?

Plus gonna be looking for lighting, skimmers, etc. etc.
If anyone has anything!

Thanks!

Put an order in!
Light - 2x24 t5
Heater - 100watt
Hydrometer
Maxijet 900
Thermometer
Instant Ocean Salt

Soon as my payment is posted gonna grab a skimmer!
Test kit ill grab with the skimmer!
Working on getting substrate and rock!

Anything else I might be forgetting!
Like beginning chemicals etc.

you will need some sort of source for water... either buying it around town or an RO/DI. You may also want another powerhead to get more flow.

You don't have to overload it with rock. It is a balance between size, density, bio-load, ect ect.

Look for more porus pieces then dence. If the bio-load is light you don't need to worry about large qty of rock. The beliefe that lots of rock is good is an old one. With water changes and a GOOD skimmer you do not need as much rock for filtration

Thanks Everyone for the input!

Rock in the beginning is gonna be on the small side. Sorry for saying 40lbs. That was just what it looks like in most peoples reef.
Sounds like its gonna start at about 10lbs and go from there! I am not gonna have a sump at this time. Going to save that for the 120 gallon tank!

Planning on making my own water with R/O Filter!

Thanks again!
