Tank's 1 year anniversary coming up!

poknsnok - The plumbing really gets messy leading to the returns.

I really wouldn't recommend plumbing a tank this way because of the low returns, but I got the tank used and decided to utilize them. I didn't want to have any visible pumps in the tank itself. Even with a check valve and siphon breaks at the top of the pipes, there's still the possibility that both will fail at the same time, so regular maintenance is required.

Here's a plumbing pic at the initial setup.

I've upgraded the skimmer twice since then. Never setup that reactor:lol: . I also finally installed a DJ panel to get rid of the clutter of surge protectors:p

So you never set up that reactor? Does that mean that you don't have a reactor, or did you set up a different reactor?

I never set it up, Mark. I've been a 2-parter for years, and was thinking of trying my hand with a Ca reactor. Seeing as how it would have been my first time doing, I didn't want to screw things up trying to get it dialed in properly over the next few months.

The possibility of it also snowballing into the need of a kalk reactor for balance and a phosphate reactor for the Ca reactor media, made me think that 2-part wasn't so bad after all.

Karl,

I've been a B-Ionic user for years now...i'm up to 110mls every morning. Been very good so far.......
i did break down and finally got myself a GEO 618 about a week ago and have yet to setup....im like you...weary about it, but i'm going for gusto and getting it running this weekend....thanks for sharing!

Rich

Nice job Karl. Looks like you have plenty of spaces for your corals to grow out. I would love to do just 2 part, but I'm too lazy. How do you dose your 2 part? doser?

My novice stutus in the hobby allwed me to get beyond my fear and I left 2 Parting about 3 months ago. I have finally dialed things in and the tank is really taking off. Your tank, as always, looks tip top and if it's not broke, don't fix it.

I usually keep a regimen of 30ml every other day, but my previous setups were much smaller before. As things grow out in the 110g, I know that's going to change.

I had saved up for a LiterMeter, but I used that money to upgrade my skimmer when the opportunity presented itself:rolleye1:

Hey good to see your tank. I never got to see alot of your pictures. the ponape birdnest and torch are doing awesome. the torth has encrusted over the glue.. but the birdnest hasn't done much.

I had my CA reactor for a while but the PH swung like crazy and my sps were unhappy. I got my milwuakee today, so now i can get it dialed accurately.

Happy anniverary; where did you find that sailfin. I've been looking for one locally.

Glad to hear their doing well, carpus. Hopefully, the milwaukee will stabilize things for you.

I picked up the desjardinii in Roseville. Price was a little higher than normal, but I wanted a small one.
