I got nervous about the Moorish Idol in the tank, so I traded it to a local guy for some nice looking frags. His tank is a bit bigger than mine and has more natural food for the fish. So far polyps are out, but they have only been in the tank overnight. The Mystery Acro didn't seem to have full extension so I may move it when I get home today.

Great progress. Loving the rockscape as well. I need to find a big bowl like that too! I'm planning getting that anthias this weekend too. how has it been for you?

As long as the fish acclimates well and does not have swim bladder issues, you will be fine. Mine is the first to get up in the morning, and last to bed. It makes it really easy to feed him more than the other fish too. He has grown a lot since I got him in December.

Well now that things are a bit more figured, I don't mind showing everyone the destruction I have created in my new house.

So Basically what happened is that I drilled straight down through the floor in the laundry room thinking it would take me straight into the garage, but there was a beam right there that you will see protrudes into the garage beyond the wall. My understanding was that there was one pipe there but the rest was hollow. I was wrong. So I ended up cutting a hole in the ceiling just beyond that beam and ran about a 2 foot length of PVC through the ceiling to meet up to the holes in the laundry room.

So as far as progress goes, I have the pipes in, I need to install the ball valve, and soft lines for the return pump. I am also trying to decide if I want to drill the tank for the return pump, or if I want to put the pump above the tank mounted to the wall and have a hose that goes down inside the tank to pump the water? I am kind of thinking that mounting it on the wall is better than having the pump hanging off the side of the tank, and I can't see any real benefits of drilling the tank and directly mounting it? I also started gluing in the baffling/ partitions last night. The next part of the plan is to finish the baffling and acclimation box, the install the return pump and ball valve. Once everything downstairs is complete, I will start hooking things up on the display. Right now the current sump is in the way though, so I will need to hook everything up at once so I can pull the sump all at once.

Oh and I also got a Tyree Oregon Mummy Eye Chalice yesterday.

I drilled my tank for the return pump to be piped in. I mounted the pump and glued a bunch of pipes together today. I also started filling the tank with RO water. Once the tank is full I will add the live sand, salt, heaters, and powerheads. I want to let that water cycle a little before I just start pumping it into my tank. I guess it wouldn't be too incredibly different from a water change though right?

Here are the latest shots of my tank.

The giant toadstool got ripped down by the outbreak of Rose anemones. I had like three anchored around its base, but at least a bit stayed in tact. My chalices have taken off too.

The scroll coral is looking maybe to have tripled in size since last year, as has the Tyree Oregon Mummy Eye, Miami Hurricane, and Jason Fox Grafted Chalice.

Currently my three issues in order of annoyance are:

1.Flatworms. I have vacuumed them out a few times, I probably just need to buy flatworm exit next time and try that.
2.Anemone outbreak. One rose tip has become about 8. I am pulling them as I can.
3.Sand bed needs cleaned. I know that hermits would decimate all of that green that is on the sand now, but my two wrasses wont let me have many hermits in the tank. They rip them apart and honestly I can live with some green on the sand bed.

Thanks. It feels good to finally have it dialed in. I definitely need a Conch for the sand bed, but other than that, things are going well.
