Tatooed fish

It just looks stupid to me

This does look stupid.

I actually saw these types if fish last year. A lfs had these heart tattoed ones a couple of days before valentines day. It really isnt necessary

That's ridiculous. People will do anything for a dollar, ESPECIALLY these days. What's next? Piercings? Implants?

I don't know man, those rosey red lips look kinda sexy to me!
All they need now is a tramp stamp, and we're happenin!

I can hear it now...
"can you order me a Chevron Tang?"

"No, but we can make one, heres an order form. Just sketch out the pattern you want on the fish diagram. Do you want a yellow, or Powder blue tang chasis?"

i would really like to know how they do that.Cant be done like a real tattoo. As some one who is covered in them. mine were not licked on by kittens.it causes alot of trauma to the area and i dont think they would make it thought it I cant see how it would work. its not in there skin but in the scales. and it would rip them all up.Its not done with a single needle but a bunch or tiny ones grouped together..and to do something like in the pic would take about 15-20min for that ... i think for something like those they must use a template and dye the scales

Here are the real deal, tatoos done with the same equipment used for people.

i can almost see it working on those kind of fish they have more like skin than heavy scales..i dont think i would work on heavy scaled fish like the parrots

Like I said, those poor fish. I do not understand your statement when you said, "I'll bet the poor fish can't afford it." What the heck? I was commenting on how those poor fish have to take that kind of treatment. The things some humans do are disgusting. Those poor things.

Wow disgusting. It's like 'hmm id like to make some money so im going to inject some animals with dye and hopefully some of them will live long enough for me to sell them...'

im sure they dont last long. fish skin cant be like peoples. and im sure they dont tattoo it as well either..any one can tatoo but a good tattoo takes skill

I wonder what the mortality rates of doing this is? Probably pretty low, else it wouldn't be profitable, unless a simply tatoo on the fish will triple its price or something. I see this as less cruel than the tons of fish that get netted and pulled to the surface only to suffocate to death being chucked onto ice or even a slow death in an inexperienced aquarist's tank.
