tatooed fish

These things are pathetic IMO. First of all as far as I have been able to find out and I have asked a lot of people they are not "tattooed". It is impossible to do so unless they have an automated process that no one has showed me yet as there are way to many out there for it to be by hand. Of course I could be wrong.

I have been told that what they are using is a form of permanent marker not a vibrating needle device as in a true tattoo machine. The wholesalers are listing them as "Tattooed" and vola everyone thinks "Tatooed" anything is cool now thanks to increased media. It's a way to sell fish and it's not new at all. They have showed up on lists for years, it just took till now for everyone to hear about them for some reason. We always see more around Valentines day.

Yep here is an article about that method. So far I have not seen this type of pattern. Only the "painted" ones, blue, pink red. This actually looks less intrusive if it's true.

Note in this article how misinformation on the subject spreads by irresponsible shop owners.

"...Lane believes they have to be restrained and then tattooed with a tattoo gun... "

Yeh.....

"...Lane believes the tattooed fish just might develop a love of the hobby for some people.

"My hope is if it gets more people into the hobby it's a good thing. If a kid comes in and sees a fish with a heart on it and says I want a fish tank and learns how to care for it, I think it's a win," says Lane."

Can anyone say irresponsible?

"OOOOOHHH Mommy I want a two headed doggy can we go get one I dont like the ones with one head there just not good enough anymore?"

Just think about it people, if you dont like fish the way they should be then dont get into the hobby that's my take on it.
