TBS LS + CaribSea Aragonite + Coral Sand

I'm planning to have a 4" sand bed (Monaco) and would like to add some base sand. How big are the TBS LS? What is the color. The
CaribSea Aragonite is finer than the Coral Sand from PetClub.

Do I wait for the TBS LS to get hear and mix them up, or I put the base sand in and then mix the TBS LS when they get here?

i put a mixture of medium aragonite and CC, im pretty happy with the mix. i used 20 lbs of the medium grade, 40 lbs of CC, and 25 lbs of TBS LS. i mixed the 60 lbs LFS sand together and placed the TBS on top. i think the sands look good together. the TBS was pretty much the same as my mixture, except fewer large pieces.

TBS LS is a mixture that has some large pieces (shells, lr rubble, coral etc.) and fine sand. I would say the color is a little on the darker side when compared with some of the sand that is sold in LFS. You might be able to get a good look at it by viewing wooglins, dwculp or h2oluvsme threads...all of them have tbs.

I'd mix it up first then put in the tbs ls. There were a lot of critters in my tbs ls and I'm not sure if mixing it up might harm some of them (the process of mixing).

Personally I just put in tbs ls and have added in some sand in spots where I felt were needed (due to fish activity). One thing about TBS sand is that it is not easily blown away by a PH - unlike finer grain sand.

I put some of the 00LITE caribsea sand down, and then about 10 lbs of TBS's live sand. Their sand basically looked like a bunch of chips of shells and stuff, at least what I got.

After almost a year now the critters have worked it into the sugar sized sand and it looks pretty nice.
