if i only order 10 pounds of rock can i be gurentted i wont get junky pieces since i would only want such a small amount of rock id like seasquirts and some sponges on the rock

well when i say junk rock i mean what htey call BASE ROCK or what ever ccomes in part 1

Part one has no Base Rock, we supply deco and coral rock with our Packages...

Thanks
TBS

The only difference between my part 1 and my part 2 was the size of some of the pieces. Both parts had the same amount of life and color.

I don't know if the sponges, cup corals, christmas tree worms, and other life that comes on the TBS rock "spreads" to dead rock. I think the only thing that would spread would be the bacteria that makes live rock "live".

thats illogical. u know how tbs makes there rock right.. by having stuff spread to it in the ocean. so why wont it happen in a tank. i think it isnt will it i think it is more like when. i mean they have them there for 2 years

I think they dumped their rock about 10 years ago. I would think that it would take a long time to have all the life from 10 lbs of rock spread over 150lbs of dead rock.

But I may be wrong . . . . give it a shot. 10lbs of TBS is better than no TBS.

Also, a lot of the life has planktonic larvae. While it reproduces and spreads well in the ocean, captive systems are notoriously harsh on planktonic life (as in it is usually killed before it settles out).

The only things that are likely to spread from one rock to another are the motile things or the things with direct development or asexual reproduction.

ahh if i can get my little bussiness started up i could buy some after only 20 sales . ( i could afford the 150 package if i drive up there )

i live 5 hours away. will they let me buy the package and pick up part one and then comeback for part 2?

i dont wanna pick the lr my self since that will take to long. ( i spend 10 min picking one piece of rock for last tank ) jsutwant it ready for when i get there.

think a toyota seiena ( van) could handel all the wieght?

I would say you would most definity be able to pick up your rock yourself and that your van will be plenty able to haul it so long as there is adequate space. However, I think going and picking out my own pieces is half the fun and excitment!

Definitely cheaper to ship with the way gas prices are! I drove from Sarasota and it was a borderline choice for me, but personal selection won out.

Are you saying it would cost more to ship ten pounds of rock than to do a ten hour drive? I can't see how that's possible. If you're going to do the package for the size your tank actually is, I understand, but you were talking about 10 pounds!
