What species of mantis does TBS usually sell? How much is shipping? and Does the shipment have to be picked up at the airportor is it delivered to your door ?

95% are Neogonodactylus wennerae, a species common in Florida from the low intertidal down to about 50 feet. They are hardy, eat well, and reach a maximum size about 7 cm living 5 or 6 years.

Occasionally a N. oerstedii, N. curacaoensis or N. torus are shipped, but these are rare in the live rock that TBS cultures.

I don't have a photo except for line drawings of the telson. However, it is fairly easy to spot. First, it has an N. oerstedii type telson, but the meral spots are while. Second, it is a "thinner" species. Finally, it is a dwarf maximum size being about 33 mm. It is found throughout the Caribbean including Florida and is almost always living in rock cavities at depths below 15 m. The deepest record I could find was 364 m, but in Key Largo I routinely collect it at 15 to 40 m.

If you go down to the vendor forums, you'll see that TBS has their own forum there, you can post shipping questions to them.
IIRC, they mentioned something about a scientist in CA having a standing order for stomatopods and giving him first shot at any they find, something leads me to suspect Dr. Roy is that scientist... ;)

There is no economical way to ship one mantis shrimp as all overnight carriers have minimum shipping charges....$40-$80

I did find one way to ship economically, but there's a big catch. I worked at an office that did a lot of shipping through FedEx and had an excellent discount. They'd let me use the shipping code and then I'd pay them back. Shipping for me was about 1/4 of the standard rate (like I said, a great discount). If you or someone you know has a situation like that, then they could put that account number on the outbound package. But like I said, you have to have the account to work with in the first place.
