tds reading

i currently have a tds reading of 286 from the tap,my ro/di reading is 15-18 ppm,i just replaced the micron filter and the carbon block,there is also recent replacements of the max cap di and the standard di filters in a spectrum max cap 180 gpd system,the di's were replaced about 1 years ago and have been sitting unused since,am i ok with these or is my tds reading to high.any ideas? thanks.

The tds out of a di should be zero ppm tds if read in line. Is that how you are measuring tds?

i am using an external tds meter meaning im filling a container with product water and then placing the probe in it. this is an older spectrum ro/di system that i manually upgraded to the max cap system.i am about to plumb the dual reading inline tds meter.i have a feeling maybe the container may have some leftover salt in it.causing my higher reading,this ro/di unit comes with the old fashioned test light when its green its good when the light turns red your supposed to service the unit.so far the light is green after replacing micron and carbon block.but yes i was hoping for a tds of 0 ppm.

Does that TDS meter read 0 in air?
