Hey guys ...
I was just curious how close you guys put your lamp system on top of the water? I have the legs for the lamp and have it about six to seven inches above the water (tank is hoodless). Is this too far away or just right. I currently have a sps dominated tank and everything seems to be doing well, but just curious how high other t5 users have their lamp hung. Any feedback is appreciated.

I keep it high enough to prevent a lot of salt spray, but not enough to prevent all of the salt spray. I use a 3 inch computer fan behind each fixture, so it's just high enough that the fans can blow underneath the bulbs. It's probably about 4.5 inches off the water line.
