Tell me your favorite salt

I am using aquavitro and am not happy with the sediment that occurs. Anyone have a salt they are using that avoids this problem. I do mix for 24 hours before I use in a tank. I mix in 22 gallon plastic garbage cans.

No, it was one of the major benefits besides price point of going from aquavitro to Fritz for me, very clear fast and almost 0 residue even after let a mix sit.

I been using Red Sea but must admit my Alk at 11.0 consistently may be from RSCP. I am only dosing kalk in ATO and have not had to raise Alk in months. Conversely my Ph stays around 7.9 never above 8.05 so I think I am breathing in CO2. gag cough....

I was having a similar issue where my pH was low around 7.7 even with kalk water. I was able to run my tubing for my skimmer outside. Now my pH levels are staying around 8.

local, by the box at SWJ, then I fill one of my old aquavitro buckets with it to keep it fresh.

How big of box are we talking about? How many gallons will it mix? I may try this next time. JP

I think the box Alex is referring to mixes 205gal for $64 map price. Its can be found cheaper at certain lfs.
I personally like it because of price point without much comprise in quality (well at least I don't notice any difference).

I am surprised no one is using Tropic Marin. I used to use it in CA, as retailers there carried it. When I moved here, no one was carrying it, and shipping was so expensive, I ended up buying premixed water from local stores. After buying an RODI unit, I went with RSCP, which was plentiful around.

Now that I am back with a smaller tank, I will just order Tropic Marin, which periodically has free shipping. $90 for 200 gallons is not too bad, when I only do 3 gallons each week for water change.

Happy to report back my first batch of Frtiz RPM was good. Easy to mix and no film in my mixing container. All of my corals are happy as well.
