Woke upto my tank at around 75-76 deg. Corals not happy:thumbdown

I was running this http://www.petsolutions.com/Titanium+Heaters-I-12516830-I-C-1021-C-.aspx with their temp controller. Has always been very accurate. This morning no heat:( Story of my life lately! lol

I cranked up the controller to 90 and it kicks on and stays on. Then it short cycles on and off. So one would guess that just the controller is bad unless the heater can cause this. Hmmmm

So trying to decide what controller to buy now. Most likely a http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=13967&N=2004+113767 I use their controls in the HVAC field and know you can stand by them ;) Any other suggestions?

I have my 250w Visi-therm stealth and 100w all-glass heater in there now warming things up.

I use a simple won-brothers 500w titanium and have had no problems (knocks on wood)

Hope everything is ok for your corals :(

My tank temp is 79-80 all day/night

If there controllers are good enough for a home heating- A/C system....I would haveta say it would be a killer aquarium heater controller. Good luck with it.
Also 75-76 bothers your corals??? I leave my heater ..Won Bro's 350W titanium- at 74 just to protect from getting too cold. Usually my tank temps dont drop below 78.8 with all the pumps and crap running. I have yet to see my heater kick on once in the new tank  My old tank ran at 78.8 at night and 81 during mid-day. The new tank runs very similiar...78.8 at night and it runs 82.2 now during mid-day. But thats not during summer months.... I have a feeling I will have some heat issues with the new tank come summer. Will haveta leave the A/C on energy saver mode during the day I think.

Yeah things will bounce back I'm sure. The mushrooms looked really bad all shriveled up, some looking to be practically falling off the rocks. I'll see how the SPS does.

My tank never drops below 80 deg. mostly stays at 81-82 deg. 24/7

Its upto 79 deg now with the halides and heaters on. I really didn't want to buy anymore equipment right now.. lol :( Looking to upgrade out of this tank.

In that case I would buy a heater/controller rated for what your planning in the future and just run it as a overkill in the current system for now..that way you dont haveta buy twice. Look at it as a early purchase for the future aquarium.:D

Or would it just be best to bite the bullet and go a step further and get say a Neptune Aquacontroller Jr. ???

I wouldn't want to spend anymore then that. Could program my lighting, run my heater and possibly cycle a couple MJ's.

Is it a dual unit can it control a heater and a chiller?

Is anyone using a Neptune controller and how do you like it?

Sorry doing alittle late night reading on Jill's laptop again. Forgot to sign her off!
