My daughter for some "strange" reason put the central heat on this morning and left it on as she went to work. I was already at work at the time. Needless to say when I came home this evening about 9pm, my house temp was 85 degrees (Atlanta). My tank was 84 to 85 degrees. My tank does not have a chiller, and has always maintained a constant temp between 78 & 80 degrees 24-7. It has not deviated from that until today. I have some acro colonies, frags, monties, etc.
Right now the temp is 81 at 12 am. What's the chances or percent of survival? (not for my daughter of course! hehehe)!

Don't worry, corals do adapt to harsh enviroments, and it was a slow temp change. Mine used to stay between 81-86 all the time, man did my monti's grow at an incredible rate!! But that was too high, since changing tanks 79-82 is my average temp swing. It took a while to heat that much water up and it will come down slowly, don't force it down. Big FAST swings are what kills corals.

I wouldn't worry about it. I ran my tank last year at 86 daily. Not a single loss and I even had a faster growth too. I keep it now at 81 to 82 with much less worry.

dont do anything drastic let adjust slowly back to where it was...and just chill!!!! all will be fine.....worst come to worst something may stress out ...but leave it be or you will kill it!!!!!!
