Temperature probe won't stay connected

I've just plugged in my controller and probes a few days ago, and the temperature probe connection is not very secure. The slightest nudge causes the connection to be lost and sends the unit into alarm.

When I plug it in, it just doesn't feel like it is a good fit if that makes sense. It is not a strong connection. Any suggestions?

That is the problem I think....there doesn't seem to be an "all the way in". It never feels like it gets to where it should. I push it in and it kind of eases back out a little when I let off. I've applied a fair amount of pressure, but I haven't gone all out for fear of breaking something.
