would it live with a royal gramma?

i know thats an aggressive fish but i can get a tiny one and give it a shot, the worst that could happen is it would get eaten right?

i was thinkin about buying a chromis and sticking it in there, see how they live together, then replace it.

smashers dont atk fish, do they?

well my O.scyllarus which is a smasher just killed one of the damsels in the tank today
smashers also have Spears too
so unfortunately not many things are safe with a Mantis

yea just after i posted this i did some more research i didnt know that smashers also had spears. ill probably stick with my plan to throw a chromis in there for awhile and see how it does.

I have seen pics of O. scyllarus with fish, and they seem fine together. I guess it just depends on the mantis. I plan to keep my mantis well fed so he shouldnt have the urge to attack fish.

My peacock has taken out three chromis and a six-line wrasse. The remaining chromis and damsel have survived for some time.

Ternatensis are HIGHLY aggressive. Most people that have one are not able to keep fish with them.

hmm... ternatensis were the only species my LFS had in stock last time I went so that ws the one i planed to get. They get a new shipment every day though, ill see what else they have. In the long run this tank is for the mantis so if i cant keep a fish with it, so be it.

thanks for the responses
