Terrible saltwaterfish.com experience

There is something to be said for getting your fish locally. If that doesn't work for you, I've had good experience with Drs. Foster & Smith. They will even talk to you :)

sorry to hear norm.I have gotten three shippments from them all where great even threw in a free t-shirt.But will steer clear since you had this happen,Don`t like people being treated like that at all

It always happens to the nice guys!!

apparently if your order goes well you are in luck it's the service when there is a problem that is lacking!!!

when you actually need customer service. it's not there.
anybody can fill and ship orders it's how they handle mistakes and problems that separates the god from the bad

Exactly szwab....

The only thing I would add is they they seem to have a higher loss rate than some other online vendors. I say this based on my own experience and communication I've had with others who have ordered from them (that's not to say every order has a loss). My theory is they have more losses because they ship in a lower volume of water (to save shipping).

I've learned of a number of others who have had customer service experiences very similar to mine.

Norm: Did you ever get a resolution of this???

They issued me something like a $9 Visa credit. It was a joke. They never addressed the issues and continued to block receipt of e-mail from me so there was no discussion about the $9 and how ridiculous it was. Out-of-sight, out-of-mind I guess. I filed a complaint w/ the BBB down there. Their entire process is a scam, They have it set up so that if there is a problem with an order, they can work it so they always come out ahead and the customer is left hanging with no recourse. A lot of smoke and mirrors IMO. It only continues because the dollar amounts are typically not huge so people simply drop it. As long as they are in business, I will continue to post negative feedback. I'm going to get my money's worth :D

No, actually it should have been much more than $9 so I'm going for the portion they didn't give me...I see it as the negative advertising they purchased from me (at my expense) :)

wow, this is some jacked up stuff. did you tell them by any chance that you were a member of reef central with a lot of exposure. and it would be better to help you then not because word of mouth is so great around here.

After several attempts to e-mail them (with no response) they blocked my ability to send e-mails to them. So, no, I didn't tell them much of anything. So, I still have a lot to say :D

That sucks Norm. I hope it all works out for the best.

Btw- How is the tank? I haven't seen it for awhile. I'd imagine I will be seeing it this summer a few times.

I wonder if what would happen if you posted your orig message on thier message board. I wonder if they would respond? I wonder if they would see it and delete it. if they left it, I could see them losing more customers being hurt in sales there also. but I doubt anything would ever change. seems like they are just happy with whatever money they can get and don't really worry too much about return sales.

actually I think someone else in one of the other threads made a valid point. If they don't have a contact number. Be aware......

I trust someone who has a contact number displayed on the main screen like Phishy does before someone you have to dig for or they dont have one at all.

going further than that, I trust someone willing to pay for the call even more. So companies with 8xx numbers are top on the list of who I would trust first. no number or buried number is at the bottom.
