 Ok here we go....
been searching thru the forums...and still confused :debi:
results were:
PH 7.8 (i know that ph doesn't really matter but it should be up to around 8.0 to 8.3?)

Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrates 0 ppm
Nitrites 0 ppm
Specific Gravity 1.027 ran out of RO-DI water (LFS store tommorrow) looking for a unit (previous thread, but found one from Brian if I can scrap up the money before the 10th).

Calcium CA2+ 560ppm above 500 is ok?
KH Hardness 161.1 ppm

I don't have a MAG test or ALK test kits yet

is there a thread on the nominal test results and which should I raise or lower...fresh water was so much easier....lol
Sry still green here and I am logging all my results for references...thxs guys

I keep my tank at:

Calcium:440-460ppm
Alk: 8.2-8.6DKH
Mag: 1350-1400
Salinity: 1.025

For your PH make sure you have a powerhead hitting the surface of the water for proper Co2 release. Are you having problems with algae or anything? or are you just double checking that your levels are ok?

the surface of the water is moving good...i have 2 wavemakers pointed to the surface and a fluval 404 plus my HOB protien skimmer

Gary....that was the result from my API carbonate hardness KH test...i dunno...lol
I bought the test kits that byran has posted with his RO-DI unit...pick them up monday :wavehand:

Like the title says. I have a litermeter 3 with a few months use. Very nice piece of equipment to have for ATO or dosing. $200

ACJR with DC8, ph probe, and temp probe. $175

2-36" ice cap led strips lights. $75

Tunze 6025 Used 2 months. $50

Sicce 2.0 Return Pump $65

Red sea test kits; algae control(N03,P04) and reef foundations(calc, alk, mag). Used maybe twice. Just purchased these before breaking down the tank.
Expire 6\2014 $30 each

Everything works flawlessly and looks like new!

PM with interest.

Gary you can convert ppm alk results by multiplying by .056. So 161ppm x .056 =9dkh or 161ppm x.02=3.22meq/l. The hanah alk checkers give alk in ppm; other test may as well.

The numbers posted look ok. Calcium at 560ppm is high but won't hurt anything. Ph at 7.8 is ok but on the low side. At <7.7 calciium carbonate , the stuf of live rock, coral skeltal matter ,etc begins to dissolve.

Recommended ranges are:

Caclium 400 to 500ppm
magnesium 1300 to 1400ppm
Alkalinity 7 to 11 dkh, ie 125ppm to 196ppm, or 2.5 to 4 meq/l.
ph 7.8 to 8.5
Specific gravity : 1.024 to 1.027; I like 1.026/7. Seawater average is 1.0264.
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate < 10ppm
PO4 <0.05ppm
