Thank you soooo much EvilMel, you're anything but!
My Naso was seemingly on her last leg when I read your post and I realized that I had been attaching seaweed/nori to rocks 'sticking-up.' After making it adhere to the rocks 'flat,' she nipped at first but eventually began to pick at it relentlessly! I'm sorry it took so long to post this, I wanted to be certain that she was 'out-of-the' woods before relaying such an optimistic message! She is plumping up and doing well thanks to YOU! Thank you again Evilmel!!!

Hey, no problem.

I actually found that information on here from another reefer myself (years ago). I'm glad you posted that it worked. So many times I post that bit of advice and no one has ever said it actually helped them. I was getting a bit weary of even bothering to put it in there. Now I will definitely continue to post it up every time someone can't get their Naso to eat.

Woo hoo!!

Post a picture of your fishy when you can.

Thanks. I'm just glad I was able to help someone out. Like I said...I learned that from another reefer (here on RC, back when the search function actually worked) and I have been spreading the word whenever I can.

It makes taking the time to post worthwhile, ya know?

Hope I can return the favor one day!

Hope I can return the favor one day!

It seems to me that many fish care takers are somewhat casual about a loss of life in any form in their aquarium. I take it very seriously and with my Naso, I wanted to keep her happy at any cost. I hope that I can save someone else's fish with a blurb or two about my experience just as evilmel did! Thanks again evilmel and RC!

Bad news...I was so interested in this thread because I had a Naso that wouldn't eat. I got it on Thursday and it has been very docile but not interested in eating.

After reading this thread, I tied some Nori onto a rock and tossed it in. All my fish went insane and stripped the rock in under one minute. The strange thing is that the Naso never came out to check it out. I got worried and searched the tank. I finally found him, or about half of him, sticking out of an anemone's mouth.

I am totally upset about this and in my own thread there has been some discussion about cyanide caught fish. I think my naso matches that because it really did not act "normal" at all. It appeared to be in a daze the whole time and not acting like any other fish I have. I guess it happens but I am quite distraught about it. :(

Yeah I am still sick about it. I am fairly convinced that it was cyanide caught after reflecting on its behavior from the moment I unbagged it. If you are interested, you can read more about it in my thread.

I recenty lost a naso thet would not take nori off of the clip. In fact I only had one tang out of 5 that would take the nori. I started (afterI lost the naso) to roll the nori up cigeratte stye and rubberband it flat to a piece of rock. Now everyone eats the nori and they are fattening up nicely. I wish I would have figured it out a month ago, I would still have my beautifu naso tang.

all my fish eat off the clip. 2 blue hippos and numerous fairy wrasses.. I wonder why some dont.. maybe its "strange" and isn't natural for them to.

I think that the strange idea is correct. The only tang that took yo it for me was one that had been in captivity for a while. the rest of my tangs are recently wild caught

You might try the feeding clip now that they are used to eating the nori. That's what I did and my naso dives after the clip when I put it in there whereas previously she had no clue what to do with algae on a piece of plastic.

Oh and btw, I think the same could be said for men and having no clue what they are going to do next.

No way!! We always know what we are going to do...we just may not communicate it. :D

My tangs always take quite a while to get nori off a clip, but when I put that rock with the rubberbanded nori in yesterday, it was only a split second and they were on it likes a swarm of flies. The difference is dramatic. When I use a clip, they may not get to it for 20 minutes.
