Angel*Fish
cats and large squashes
I just wanted to say thanks - The info and links that you gave me resulted in the saving of my fish.
My fish apparently had intestinal flagellates which I was able to diagnose due to a link you sent me to. (I'll post it later for those who might also benefit -- the shortcut's on my office computer desktop & I'm at home)
I have about 25 fish & at least 9 showed distinct signs of the infection. Sadly an already weak purple tuka succumbed to the parasites- he wouldn't eat the food with the meds. I also lost a sunburst anthias & a blackcap basslet. But I don't think it was the parasites that killed those two directly.
I even had one fish, a male flame angel, who appeared to be near death. He had hidden for several days & I found him floating vertically, mouth up, gasping/breathing hard at one point. Fortunately he had enough spunk left to go after a few bites of live brine I loaded with the medication.
After 4 weeks or so, all the tank inhabitants are now fat, healthy and symptomless. The flames are spawning again & the usual fishy bickering has resumed
Thank you so much!!!
Without your help, this likely would have wiped out all my fish.
PS I'll dose again at the 6 weeks mark as you advised.
