Thank you "Soft Coral Keepers" thread! You have shown me how beautiful soft coral tanks can be, and inspired me to finally get the guts to convert my tank from SPS dominated to Softie dominated. I realized that I was only really keeping SPS because it's "cool" to keep SPS, and people think you know what you're doing if you can keep SPS. Whenever people (not reefers) came over, they would always comment on xenia and whatnot, and never on the acros that I had been raising for ever from little baby frags so meticulously. I realized that I usually agreed with them, and commented on how much I loved the movement of the xenia and a couple other softies in the tank. I have now sold ALL of my SPS, and I'm in the process of adding the sand bed I've always wanted (which I never had before because I was worried about high flow for my SPS) and stocking up on some awesome softies! I think I've finally found what makes ME happy.

I had someone new over yesterday and they could not believe the "flow" (he meant the coral movement) in the tank. That is what I like!

dont worry nps is the new trend!lol + 1 on softy lps .i like just a sps or to in a nice mixed tank.lots of lps, nem.few softy's and one or two sps.i just love getting hypnotysed with xena opening and closing.i love clove polyps but tend to kill them.and i realy like the bonzai tree keya look.

I lost all of my sps during a move, so say the least I was devastated. After 3 years of growth and it only took 8 hours to destroy it all. Been a huge fan of softies since I got into the hobby. So now its just leathers, zoa's and a few lps.
