I wanted to say a huge thankyou to Michael for travelling all the way up frpm Dallas to discuss phytoplankton with us. This was really the most fortuitous timing since many of us are in the process of getting ready to breed and raise marine fish. From the topics Michael discussed, both during his presentation, and afterwards, the benefits of phyto surely outweigh the small amount of time and effort to grow your own food stuff.
Adam (papagimp) did an excellent presentation on building a phytoplankton culture unit, which was won by Ray Souttiere. A complete write up of the process together with pictures will soon be appearing in the COMAS website for anyone who may be interested in also building a similar unit.
Overall it was a great night. Extreme Corals donated 4 bottles of phytoplankton (DTs) which was also used as door prizes for COMAS members.
On a side note, the book Michael discussed with regard to growing phytoplankton is in the COMAS library, if anyone is interested.
Once again thanks to Adam and Michael and also to everyone that came out and supported our speakers. I really enjoyed myself and I hope you did as well.
Paul.
