Randy, I have to tell you this...as a personal observation...there was a woman and her family in the coral room and she was asking a lot of questions and was obviously new to the hobby. I was cringing a couple times at her responses...but remembered full well that I was once in her shoes, where I knew absolutely nothing...and I found a lot of people can be cruel in their responses, maybe not intentionally...but harsh nonetheless. So I listened to your answers...and every single one of them was positive, encouraging and spoken in a way that was encouraging. Then I took a look at the conversation...and you had her attention...and she was absorbing every word...even the question about the tap water and your response of "that's a discussion for another time." There are very few business owners that take that kind of time with their customers...although in the reefing community, it does seem to happen more frequently.
I just wanted to let you know this. Congrats on a great store, staff and swap.
Hey Kat.
Thanks. We try to treat every customer like they are our only one. It can be very difficult sometimes to give that kind of care, especially when there are 100 people in the store, like that day. :crazy1:
It just goes to show that you never know who your talking to, and who's listening.Turns out that woman owns some prominent businesses in Buffalo and offered to help us out. She also came back the next day,(today) wanting to setup a bigger tank and do it right.
And that just brought a huge smile to my face. I've been up there several times now...and I have never been disappointed in my purchases or the experience I've had there. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and so much fun to be around, talk to...it's just a great atmosphere.
The benefits of doing what you took the time to do yesterday are obvious. Thank you so much for replying with this info!![]()
Arrogant, couldn't be further from the truth.
You and your staff are great to deal with and very helpful and friendly.
but for the most part we try.
we all can have our off days, but for the most part we try.
