lolThe one thinkg I would like to know is how Dave ESPI's Sig or post would have or could have offended anyone the only ones that know him personally are us in the group. Anyone else who may misunderstood it would of just shruged it off and moved on to the next thread so my question is this was it offending to someone who may have read it or personally threating the person who edited it or deleted it because they are someone who envey the fact that Dave speaks his mind but in reality thats what they would like to do but just dont have the B**** to do it? that is the true question. Beacause I have only heard one person do any complaining about it and that was the Mod that got rid of it

Starting from scratch.Well I dont know about the rest of you bt I speak for myself when I say this they kicked dave out because he voiced his mind(which last time I knew may not be agreeable with the "User Agreement" but last time I knew was in the Constitution Of the United States which I believe overs rules most user agree ments unless sadam happens to be a mod of it) all because someone couldnt take a inside joke with out knowing the meaning behind it I guess RC should be looking into other things because I am sure if we read everythread on here each of us would evently find something that offended us so in turn judging on what happened to dave and his post they should all be deleted and have the members thrown out then that 100,000 + memebrs that were refered to in a earlier post would be down to maybe 10 or 15 ( mostly the mods)
I suggest that some of you take a little time before posting. There are several people who have posted comments that may result in them being banned.
Also, you're beloved Dave Espi was banned previously from Reef Central for antics such as these. He was ALLOWED to sneak back on with a new user name in the hopes that he would change his insulting, abusive and caustic posting habits. That obviously didn't change.
amf82380, this is a PRIVATELY owned message board. As such, it is much like a private club. We (the Owner and Staff Members) make the rules and enforce them. There is NO right to post of RC, it is a priviledge. When you go to someone's house, do you continually break their rules and insult them when they ask you to abide by their rules? I would bet not. But, here we have a bunch of people breaking the rules and then calling us Nazis, etc for enforcing them?

Seems Quite harsh? I myself have surfed RC frequently and having seen many a posts/ threads that have let slide on by.... I don't agree with personal attacks but this is no way to start off a New Year on RC in this forum. So take a deep breath, relax we all know how things over the internet can be blown way out of proportion. Let things BE!!!!!! No need for tha Drama. Kris, there are second chances. The person banned is welcome to discuss the possibility of reinstatement with a Moderator or Staff Member. All he/she has to do is email one of us at our user name @reefcentral.com.
I will tell you this, however, evading a ban by rejoining with a new user name will result in a permanant ban in 99% of cases. So, if you want your friends to get reinstated, tell them to contact a moderator via email.

Power such as that should not be left to one ModVery interesting. Not like its subjected to a review or group decision. Be lucky if they even respond back on the subject.
I agree we need to create our own forum!.. I'm seeing more and more benefits as time passes....
We can't win, if mods don't reply it's because it's only one guy doing it, if we all reply then we're 'ganging up' on everyone.
A good share of mod intervention comes from 'reported' posts, so apparently not everyone enjoys the 'show'.

This whole thing is getting blown out of proportion...... I am not looking to stir the pot but, I realize to some people Espi may have been offensive...... To us he is just Dave. To know him is to love him. To ban him because some people don't agree with his humor is kinda harsh in my book.
As far as banning others on the board from our group...... I don't get it. Are you all trying to rule in fear and make examples out of people?
I hope that the raised hairs around here settle down soon. This is no way to start the New Year and I'm sure that we all have enough B.S. and drama in our own lives, we really don't need it here too.

If people are going to ask to be banned, I'll ban them.
There is however, no reason to fear me or any other Mod here, we're not going to come to your house and hit you with something.
This board is not for everyone, all I want to do is help facilitate the departure of those that don't want to be here/can't follow the forum rules.

As Larry said, no, we're not trying to rule via Fear. Do you think we actually enjoy these types of confrontations? No, we don't. Do you think we go looking for this type of stuff? No, we don't.

Unfortunately, in this case, the person violating the User Agreement decided it was best to become insulting to the Moderator that called him on his behavior. Then, several others jumped in and began attacking the Moderators and Staff here. Thus, they violated the User Agreement and their ability to post was removed.
I hate to see people get banned but, unfortunately, some people don't want to play by the rules
