That's it - I'm done

Well, it seems my male clown passed over the weekend. I have had that pair since they were 1/4 in long and that was 8 years ago. As many of you know - I had a power outage that resulted in most of my SPS, all my LPS and most of my fish dieing a couple of months ago. I thought of gitting rid of it all but loved my clowns so I kept it. Did several water changes and it seemed all was ok, but with out him there, there are just too many stressors and giant bills in my life right now to deal with more.

I would like to sell as a whole, I don't have the energy (phyically or emotionally) to let it go a little at a time. (There is not that much there anymore anyhow)

What I have
30gal X-X-High (20gal 24" footprint) - Black

250 14k MH with 2x70 VHO Actinics (about 4 months of bulb use)
The unit fits ontop of the tank with little wodden blocks (ugly - but it gives the filter and skimmer room)

Seaclone Protein Skimmer 150 (I know most do not like these - but a 150 on a 30 seems to work well)

MarineLand HOT filter (I think it is a 350 or 400 - rated for 75gal)

Glass heater (not sure size but it works for the tank)

A 402 PowerHead - ~270gph

~40lbs of LR - some with some coral (very little SPS, some yelow polys, Lots of Keyna Trees, tulip anemones, lots of macro and who knows what else) I have a large Toadstool, but I think Dan has dibs on that)

Live stock:
cleaner shrimp, monkey (Sharron) shrimp, Sexy shrimp (I think it's in there - been a couple of days), Female Per ~2.5" hosting in a large flower anemone (it doesn't look anything like one, but it did 8 years ago), Yellow gobie

I would like to get $450, but will talk (would take a running motercycle in a trade - lol)

I have 3 five gall empty salt buckets for x-fer you can keep and an 80% full bucket of ReefCrystals I will though in as well along with timers and a power cord if wanted

I also have a UPS by APC (looks like this - will get the specks later - http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SUA750&total_watts=50) I think my model is one up as I thought it was around $400 a year ago. Sadly I never hooked it up as I got rid of my big tank - I would like $250 for it. - Will give a deal if you buy it with the above tank.

Best of luck to all the rest of you in this great hobby.

sorry to here, that is bummer. :( . what ballast is on the 250w?? LMK if you are goin to part out. thanks

Sorry man...trust me I know where you are...any thoughts of just selling the livestock and keeping the tank for the future. You may be back, ya NEVER know...

I'm not sure about parting out right now, but...
I have two extra VHO bulbs (one is a white actinic, the other is 10) I also orded a 10k MH with the light, but it sounds like something is loose in it and have never turned it on.
This is the unit new http://www.aquacave.com/24-deluxe-1...o-fixture-by-br-hamilton-technology-1445.html ($500 with out bulbs) So basically, $450 for the light and bulbs comes with a free tank.
I guess if you only want the rock and lights, ~$350

(I wanted to see the 14k - liked it and never looked at the 10k untill sometime later) The unit has 2 75watt actinic bulbs in it now and 1 14k 250 watt MH bulb

OK - didn't mean to repost myself there (posted this in the upstate forum and was responding with a cut and paste to that forum...
What I ment to say is...
Well, honestly, the rock is not that great with the Tulips on it. I could use the $ so how about $300? - I found someone who will take the gobie and shimp, so I could just trade the clown in to Nature, but would like to let her stay with her anemone and the rock it is on if you don't mind. (I am keeping my fresh water tank for now)

Yea my buddy (discuss)Dan just said that to me. I may very well sell off the live stock (not much there though) but I need the $ for the lights more then I need it down the road and would rather just buy some then. The tank is a cool shape that does not take up that much space so I could keep it. One filter can be used on my FW tank too.

Hey Ben, sorry to hear. We will miss you on these boards.
At the risk of appearing opportunistic, if you do decide to part out, the zoo may be able to use (purchase) the Sea Clone since the one we have on the seahorse display is proving difficult for the zoo staff to mainatain and seahorses are getting into the intake reservoir. Thanks Ben and best of luck~!

Jerry, I'll still swing by the site
- With the skimmer, if someone buys the lights and rock for the above price, I will donate the skimmer to the zoo
So if anyone wants to help the zoo - buy my lights! :)

- only issue is it may be a little tall for the tank. I stopped by the zoo last weekend and I couldn't tell what size tank was behind the glass.

Do you have a picture of the light set up....im looking for new project.

Geo

I saw the link for the pic...sorry about that

hmmmm

Obv the pic in the link is new, but mine are in pretty nice shape minus a little salt dust and the fan filters are a little dusty. My lights also have the protection UV glass (not pictured)

Jerry - what size is the seahorse tank? It's a seaclone so you still need to mess with it every couple of weeks to maintain the most flow. Get it going right though and it can fill the cup up in a couple of days.

Jerry, that will work fine, the skimmer has just enough room on my 30x-tall

$260 for the lights $300 for lights, rock, Add anemone and clown for another $20 for $320 total

Jerry, no takers yet. I have one possible that I hope to hear from again soon - will let you know as soon as I can

Ben,

I have not forgot about you... :) Everything looks like it will be in order by Thursday...I'll give you a shout then.
