OK where do I begin. This thread has more ups and downs than you could believe. First the setup is amazing and th tank is going great and then the unfortunate loss of youre dog, which I just went through BTW, and let me tell you I thought I was a strong guy nothing can prepare you for that (it still hurts). And you still found the time to share youre experience with us. Then all is well and youre mother falls ill (thankfully all is well now and she doing good) and you still found time to share. I must say I have the attention span of a tick but I read youre thread from beggining to end and learned a lot of DIY stuff and many other usefull tips. Its people like you that make this site what it is, a great place to go and ask questions without the fear of being ridiculed or made fun of. I am planning on building a 125rr with a basement fish room and if you do not mind will be using some of youre ideas in my build. I am in the planning stages right now (and I need my younger brother to move out so I can set the tank up in his old room:lol: ). But if you dont mind I would appreciate as much help in this process as possible. Again great thread and glad to see everyone is doing well, keep us posted and a Happy New Year to you and youre family.

jnarowe, I once had problems with multiplying posts! Still do from time to time. :) The zoas do multiply, but I think the hippos take them faster than they my multiply!

Smitty750, Thank you so much for your comments! I'm sorry for your loss. It's very hard, they are just like family and leave an empty spot when they're not here. :( We were talking about Fred (our dog) just the other day. We miss him like crazy. My son is bummed that his son will never know him. But, his daughter said don't worry Dad I'll tell Kegan all about Fred! She's 4 :) Mom is doing great which is a blessing in it's self. :)

I can't believe you read the entire thread! THANKS for taking the time to do that! PLEASE feel free to use any ideas I had or ask any questions. Hopefully I can help you avoid some of the mistakes we had! :) No ridiculing or making fun of here. :) When you do start your project make sure to start a thread. It's fun to watch others set their systems up! (Tell that brother of yours to get moving! LOL).

If we add the other tank (I'm fairly certain that will happen) I'll post that process. Happy New year to you and your family as well! :)

Well, I'm leaning towards possible adding a 150 to my existing system. I think the 55 will be too small for what I want to do. A friend of mine has a 150 for sale so I may jump on that. I would definately be putting 2 hippos and 1 powder blue in that tank. Any ideas of what other fish would look cool in there? I'm thinnking aobut maybe a trigger? This will be fish only with LR. I'm still in the dreaming stage so let me know your ideas! :)

Well... It looks like I will be adding another tank to that system. :) Tomorrow I'm picking up a 150 gallon tank to be put in the basement and attached to the main system. I think that will put me at around 400 gallons of water in the total system.

This will be a see through tank that is built in a wall. It will be fish only with live rock. I'm moving the 2 hippos and 1 powder blue from the main tank to the 150. I;m leaning towardsgetting a trigger or two to add to the 150.

Well I picked up the tank today!!! The guy I bought it from owns a LFS. I have a lot of aptasia so I thought I would try somemints and he had lots there so I bought 12. I then put 6 in the 40 gallon that is acting more like a macro tank. the overflows on my 125 have lots of aptasia in them so I thought I would put one peppermint in each overflow. After I did that, I thought I would look to see if they stayed in or moved back into the main tank. As I was looking for the shrimp I saw what I couldn't believe. My little girl mandarin that's been missing for a few weeks!!! I also saw the chromis that came up missing a few weeks ago! I couldn't believe it! My husband is now trying to figure out how to get them out... :)

jnarowe, something just not right about that... :)

sctipfx4 thanks! How fun! Start a thread and post pictures as you go. :)

My husband took the tubing out of the overflow that the fish were stuck in. They ended up in the sump. Of course the mandarin wouldn't come out from under the skimmer for me to catch her so we had to pull the skimmer out of the sump. Both of the fish looked pretty ragged. Stupidly I put them back in the main tank. The other chromis must have thought I added a new chromis and was making life miserable. I had 7 for the past 2 years with no problems at all. I add their "buddy" back and look out! Sooo I caught him and put him in the 40 gallon for now. I'm not sure what I'll do with him down the road. The mandarin is hiding in some rock. She looked pretty beat up. Her tummy wasn't sunken in so I'm hoping she will make it. They've both been missing for a while. I bet it's been over a month. I'll have to look back in this thread and see when I posted about it. Anyway, they are out of the over flow and the hole is plugged up.

Here are teh beginning stages of the 150. We picked the tank up from Joel at Aquariums Etc. Of course it rained all the way home...

My husband, son and a friend of ours (Ohioreef) unloaded it:
